Do not be surprised that SCOTUS denied certiorari for what would have been perceived as pro-conservative causes and easy wins for RepubliKKKlans, namely regarding issues of D.O.J. filter teams (Korf v. The United States), Mike Lindell’s defamation case (MyPillo v. U.S. Dominion), Second Amendment rights via challenges to bump stock restrictions (W. Clark Aposhian v. Merrick B. Garland and Gun Owners of America v. Merrick B. Garland), and other cases related to redistricting (e.g., Pennsylvania). There is an easy explanation. They only have so much bandwidth each term, and the justices have the numbers and the patience to see through their ultimate goal: To destroy the rule of law. Not to mention some of these cases are redundant such as those related to redistricting. They’re about to enshrine the Independent State Legislature Theory, which will take care of any cases related to elections more generally.
And I do want to make one more point that was recently lost on me, which I should have deduced much earlier. It only takes four justices to vote in favor of granting certiorari. In other words, every case the Court decides to take is entirely at the discretion of the conservative justices. They control the agenda entirely, so you can be confident that whatever cases they choose to review come with a particular objective in mind, which is to undo the last era of progress. Do not be sanguine when SCOTUS passes on a case, for there is a good reason. They’ll eventually get to destroying the rule of law and American society, all in good time. Welcome to stupid America!
I must admit, tweeting is problematic when trying to temper my vulgarity. So I must summon my thin reserves of wit, satire, and tempered ire. Oh, all while having to be pithy. We’ll see how long I can go without getting put in the penalty box. I wonder if Twitter screens for pig Latin?
I really, really hate this guy. Not only is he a douchebag, but he’s a tool for the Russian government, and I’m glad Ukrainian diplomat Andriy Melnyk told him to go f*** off! I’ll second that! The Hill has this disgusting story, “Musk tweeted out a poll on Monday asking respondents to weigh in on his proposal to end the war: redoing elections of annexed region under United Nations supervision, giving up the Crimean peninsula to Russia and maintaining Ukraine as a neutral country between Russia and the West.” What a f***ing joke. Clearly, he’s in the crowd of sacrificing Ukraine in the name of appeasement and solidifying Russia’s illegal gains. I can’t deal with the stupid. Welcome to stupid America!
Nothing worse than flip-flopping inside of a fortnight. I guess either Truss has no confidence in her own economic foundation or just has no idea what she’s doing. As The New York Timesreports, “Facing a mutiny of Conservative Party lawmakers, Prime Minister Liz Truss of Britain on Monday reversed plans to abolish the top income tax rate of 45 percent on high earners, a humiliating about-face that leaves her supply-side economic agenda in tatters and her grip on power uncertain. … But the reversal leaves Ms. Truss’s month-old government in flux, with a rebellious and newly empowered band of lawmakers in Parliament. Cutting taxes was the prime minister’s signature economic proposal; reversing course so quickly on part of her plan will raise doubts about her leadership.” No matter where conservatism resides, no matter the country or the degree, it always suffers from the same ignorance and impatience. Cut taxes and then figure out the economic consequences!
What else is new? The NFL either attracts whitey corrupt players or produces them. I think the Star Tribune said it well, “The Hall of Fame rules may make it impossible for the NFL to expel Favre, but as we witnessed with Colin Kaepernick, the league can certainly ostracize him. For if owners thought protests during the national anthem threatened the integrity of the NFL’s precious shield, then where does ‘sued for taking financial assistance from the poorest among us’ fit in that picture?” It is fitting that this article excerpt would juxtapose Payton and Kaepernick. The NFL destroyed Kaepernick’s career before it began because he took a principled stand (knee) on an issue of great importance to him. Oh, and he’s (Black). Then you have whitey “hero” who not once but twice scammed large sums of money from welfare funds in the poorest, most backward state in the nation — Mississippi — who, of course, also has a large (Black) population living in poverty. You can always count on RepubliKKKlans and evil evangelicals to do whatever they can to make (Black) poor people poorer. Welcome to stupid America!
I love it when CPAC’s id tweets, and then the ego has to Russia-wash (or Russia-splain) away its true sentiments. Allow me to share excerpts from The Hill that expose the id: “According to screenshots of the post shared on Twitter, CPAC had tweeted that Russian President Vladimir Putin’ announces the annexation of 4 Ukrainian-occupied territories’ while ‘Biden and the Dems continue to send Ukraine billions of taxpayer dollars.’ ‘Meanwhile, we are under attack at our southern border. When will Democrats put #AmericaFirst and end the gift-giving to Ukraine?’ CPAC wrote in the original post.” And now the ego: “‘Russia’s illegal invasion of Ukraine must be repelled. Putin is a madman that is putting millions of lives at risk with his loose talk of nuclear war,’ the conservative organization wrote. ‘We must oppose Putin, but American taxpayers should not be shouldering the vast majority of the cost.’” (Lies!)
Their hate cannot be masked no matter what cleanup they attempt on aisle 13. Let’s face it! CPAC leadership and each of its members are pro-Russian authoritarianism and anti-Western democracy, all wrapped up in white supremacy. You see, morons, CPAC does not want America to be the leader of the free world. They want us to be second-fiddle to Russia’s hegemony because — brown people! Whatever! This is conservativism rising in America! Welcome to stupid America! Dumb and whitey!
In honor of WelcomeToStupidAmerica joining Twitter — against my better judgment — I thought it only fitting to make my inaugural tweet about the site’s soon-to-be owner: Elon Musk. As CNN reports, “Tesla revealed on Friday a prototype of a humanoid robot that it says could be a future product for the automaker. The robot, dubbed Optimus by Tesla, walked stiffly on stage at Tesla’s AI Day, slowly waved at the crowed and gestured with its hands for roughly one minute. Tesla CEO Elon Musk said that the robot was operating without a tether for the first time. Robotics developers often use tethers to support robots because they aren’t capable enough to walk without falling and damaging themselves. … Tesla is not the first automaker to develop a humanoid robot. Along with Hyundai’s Boston Dynamics, Honda worked on robots dubbed ‘Asimo’ for nearly 20 years. In its final form, Asimo was a child-size humanoid robot capable of untethered walking, running, climbing and descending stairs, and manipulating objects with its fingers.”
I suppose if I’m going to use Twitter, then I’ll have to clean up some of my posts. I’ll try to keep this one clean, but my tens and tens of followers will readily understand that I do not like Musk — and that’s putting it hilariously mildly. He is a billionaire man-child carnival baker who poses as a genius. In reality, he’s just a grade-A jerk. That being said, of course, he touts his “new” walking, waving robot as if he invented sliced bread. What he really “revealed” to the world is a robot demonstrating first-generation capabilities in a world where everybody else is running on fourth-generation (at least) technology. Yet, I’m sure Musk sycophants could not wait to claim he has revolutionized the “untethered” robotic world. Furthermore, he claims Optimus will eventually be mass-produced and operate on the same AI technology as Tesla’s self-driving mode. So, should we expect killer robots in each home? Isn’t this the same guy who warned about AI-powered robots? Once again, he’s all showmanship, and morons eat it up. Welcome to stupid America!
First up on the docket, according to The Hill, “The Supreme Court on Monday will hear arguments of a case between Idaho landowners and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), a dispute that could redefine the scope of the country’s clean water regulations. … ‘This is a very, very, big deal for the Clean Water Act. It will determine, likely, whether the Clean Water Act can protect half of the water bodies in the country, and if it can’t, meeting the water quality goals of the law that we all count on will be virtually impossible,’ said Jon Devine, who leads the Natural Resources Defense Council’s federal water policy team. Although overshadowed by the court’s overruling of Roe v. Wade, last term saw the court vote 6-3 to pare back federal agency power in West Virginia v. EPA, a case that reined in the government’s authority to regulate carbon emissions from power plants. Court watchers believe the conservative majority court will continue its rightward trajectory this term.”
Let’s not kid ourselves. Rolling back the government’s ability to regulate the air we breathe and the water we drink are just stumbling blocks to Court’s ultimate goal: To destroy the federal administrative state. Conservatives want to roll back as much federal power as possible and give it to the states as if air and water quality stops at state borders. But whatever! As I have written countless times in prior posts, the end of our freedoms — freedom to love who we love, not be discriminated against, have our votes count, and live without fear of drinking contaminated water or breathing polluted air, just to name a few things — is coming quickly, yet no one cares. Seriously. No! One! Cares! Least of all, SCOTUS.
The Court’s approval rating will continue to plummet, and they will continue to roll back more and more rights while rendering the federal government powerless to protect us on issues that should really matter to everyone. So, whatever. One need only search for my post the day RBG died to understand everything I predicted two years ago is about to come true — has already started coming true with the end of Roe. It’s only going to get worse with this (and all future) SCOTUS terms. This is what people voted for; this is what happens when voters elect RepubliKKKlans. If stupid Americans were paying attention, then all of this should have been foreseen, but people are morons, so when they elect conservatives to “protect their wallets,” they trade off all our rights. Welcome to stupid America! The end is coming, morons! Oh, well. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.
According to The New York Times, “Speaking to hundreds of Russian lawmakers and governors in a grand Kremlin hall, Mr. Putin said that the residents of the four regions — which are still partially controlled by Ukrainian forces — would become Russia’s citizens ‘forever.’ He then held a signing ceremony with the Russian-installed heads of those regions to start the official annexation process, before clasping hands with them and chanting ‘Russia! Russia!’” I have no f***ing clue how Putin walks this back. How does one declare to his countrymen that he’s absorbed large swaths of the Ukrainian population as Russian citizens “forever” and not back down the second “foreigners” “attack” them? (And Ukraine is going to want those regions back.) I’ll tell you how: By not backing down. I am now confident in declaring Putin’s little rally stunt today was a call to arms for World War III. We are there, folks! The time has come. Brace yourselves! These are two forces set on a collision course that Putin has now placed in stone. There is no negotiating when Putin has announced annexed Ukrainians to be Russians forever and Zelenskyy correctly declares no f***ing way!
And I think all these talking heads on MSM, as well as politicians, are being extraordinarily naive to brush off Putin’s bellicosity as just bluster or intimidation or the ravings of a desperate man on the defensive who is losing his war. This may all very well be true, and it may also be true that he is ready to push the world to the brink. I think he’s already decided; it’s now or never. I also hear pundits profess their perplexity by seeing the dichotomy of a Putin declaring Russia will push through to total victory and a populous less than enthusiastic about the state of affairs. There is nothing about which to be confused because it’s ultimately immaterial. Have these professional pundits already forgotten the lessons of Nazi Germany and Hitler? Allow me to remind the reader.
It was all fun and games for the citizens of Nazi Germany while Hitler was overrunning and winning against Poland, the low countries, Norway, France, Greece, the Balkan states, and North Africa. And then came the invasion of Russia. Even the German layman understood that taking on Russia was probably a bridge too far, but they trusted Hitler, so the citizens rallied behind the Fuhrer nonetheless. Well, how did that turn out? This is the point: Do not expect “the people” to rise up and save the country from its dictator, for they will not! Citizens will cower. They will oblige. They go along. Or they will flee — I’m talking to you conscription-eligible Russians! So, do not expect Putin to get thrown out of power or wait for some coup. It’s not going to happen. As I have repeatedly — repeatedly — said, the only way is through! Not around, not back, not over, not under. The only way to check Putin and the rise of authoritarianism worldwide is to smite it! The sooner everyone understands this, the sooner the world can pick up the pieces and move on. Now, what the state of the world looks like on the other side? I have no idea. Probably less free than you think. If being a part of this species for decades has taught me anything, it’s that humanity is overdue for a great conflagration because that’s what primates eventually do — hate, kill, and war. We’re nothing more than monkeys willing to throw our sh*t at each other. Welcome to stupid humanity. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.
According to CNBC, “The Biden administration announced new economic sanctions on hundreds of Russian officials in response to the Kremlin’s illegal annexation of four regions of Ukraine. The newly sanctioned entities include shell companies formed specifically to evade previous sanctions on Russian military suppliers. They also expand prior sanctions on top Kremlin officials to include their wives and children, a sign that officials believe the family sanctions are having an impact.”
Let me see if I understand this correctly: Russia “steals” 15 percent of Ukraine’s land, and the U.S. slaps more pointless sanctions on Russian officials and shell companies. Un-f***ing-believable. Didn’t we do similar actions when Russia annexed Crimea? So, we still haven’t kicked Russia off the S.W.I.F.T. system to cripple its ability to conduct world financial transactions. We still haven’t banned Russia from trading in dollars (for oil). The West still imports its fossil fuels. I’m not quite sure at what point the Allies knock Russia out. What will it take? I suppose a nuke, but even then, the West will not respond in kind. The N.A.T.O and the U.N. are just projecting the usual weakness. If this is the worst of consequences for Putin for illegally proclaiming Russian imperial expansion, then I would say it’s an easy win for him. Welcome to stupid America! The West’s alliance is weakening and losing its punch even as Ukraine wins on the battlefield. Oh, but hurricane Ian. Welcome to stupid America. Eyes are always off the ball!
