Netanyahu’s bloc, comprised of right-wing and ultra-Orthodox parties, currently stands at 55 seats. The center-left bloc has 57 seats.” I know nothing about Israeli politics and their Parliamentary system beyond what I read in domestic news publications, but I find it curious that Netanyahu and his Likud Party were rebuked in the last election yet he still seems to be the one calling the shots to form a unity government. Technically, it will be the President of Israel who will ask the party leader most likely to form a government to do so or for a third election. I just don’t see how Netanyahu continues to think he’s capable of achieving that goal and why others may think he is as well. Does he expect to form a unity government with the center-left party while remains P.M. is going to be well received? Seriously? Is that even an option? How fantastic is that? The loser (who’s under criminal investigation by the way) gets to keep the most powerful position in government. Perhaps these are the last gasps of a dead man walking. Nonetheless, I would like to think his election loss is a rebuke of traitor trump, but I certainly hesitate to ascribe outside political forces to the internal machinations of a country because politics of any country are always complicated and tend to focus on home issues no matter what the circumstances. It is still a poke in the eye to traitor trump, so that is pleasing!
