He figures himself to be an optimist, just one who sees how terrible things are and how much worse they can get, and he believes that the only way to get to the light is to acknowledge the darkness.” The title caught my eye and I thought the quote was poignant. (Plus the Yang Gang moniker is catchy.) Although I’m not following Yang because I’m not going to waste my time on someone who has no chance of winning, I do think his pessimism is the exact tone Democrats should be taking. I’m sorry, but fear works! It works with traitor trump and his cult. It got him elected as people fear the “other.” It is long past time that Democrats start tapping into the fear of another four years of a RepubliKKKlan dictatorship: unaffordable and discriminating health care, runaway climate change, the rich getting richer and the poor getting poorer, a bankrupt government, legalized discrimination against women, minorities, and LGBTQ, and so forth.
Instead, we keep getting these weak Democratic candidates that talk about hope and optimism as if the current state of affairs is some sort of obstacle that can be overcome in the next election. I will admit his “chosen one” comment as he looks up to the heavens was tongue-in-cheek, but he really does think he’s God-like. If there is one thing traitor trump does expertly is playing to his idiot base. Nonetheless, when traitor trump openly accepts blasphemous praise from a supporter one would think it should bother Christians, but this is trump stupid America so his MAGA moron and RepubliKKKlan Evangelical followers absolutely believe he is the second coming of Christ. This is a full-on cult.

It is the illusion of democracy. It is the illusion of a representative republic. Since the nation’s inception, it has always been intended to be a government elected by and for white privileged (i.e., landed) men. Every change since then has been a failed and feckless attempt to overcome this original ideal. The Electoral College is the perfect embodiment of such archaic vestiges from 18th-century beliefs. The Electoral College has remained relatively unchanged and mostly unchallenged for hundreds of years even though it allows the minority of voters to elect the most powerful man on the planet, quite literally subverting the will of the majority. Makes complete and total sense. Of course, the original intent of the Electoral College was to override the popular vote just in case the “masses” picked the wrong person, but in modern-day practice it has insulated bad choices by the minority from being reversed. That is to say when the popular vote elects one person then the Electoral College ensures the minority’s pick is preserved. Welcome to stupid America! It’s all an illusion; it always has been!

The 65% of Americans who now say economic conditions are good represent a 5-point drop from the May CNN/SSRS poll.” If I’ve said it once, then I’ve said it a hundred times: the economy, stupid! The economy more than anything is what will move voters off of traitor trump, but I should stipulate that I don’t think a minor downturn in the economy will hurt traitor trump. I just don’t. If we have a quarter or two of minor economic slowing (<1% or so) before the election, then I don’t think that will hurt traitor trump’s re-election chances. His base (e.g., farmers, RepubliKKKlans, MAGA morons) have already indicated they are willing to weather some (more) economic hurt because they believe (incorrectly) that traitor trump’s economic “policies” will actually benefit them in the long-run (it won’t), but one cannot convince stupid people of things they are incapable of comprehending. As for the rest of voters? Eh! Only an economic catastrophe will motivate them to vote Democratic in significant enough numbers to want to deliberately and consciously change things.
