Infrastructure Week Is Here — For Reals

Infrastructure legislation is headed to Biden’s desk, but that naturally begs the question, Why now and how? Unfortunately, this pyrrhic victory belies Democrat’s competence — nonetheless. The victory is pyrrhic in the sense they had to lose what should have been a win in Virginia’s gubernatorial race before Democrats decided that they need to actually do something; they need to give Biden a win. Although, I still contend it’s too late. I think the impressions and judgments of Biden and his administration along with Democrats are fairly set for the long term, and, like I said, passing this infrastructure bill at this moment reinforces that viewpoint. Look! They passed the bill de-coupled from the human infrastructure bill after months and months of the Progressive Caucus holding up the vote precisely under the threat of tanking both bills if they did not get their way. And, of course, Biden indulged them for those months as the bickering intensified and bled out into the public sphere, embarrassing the party and the president. All the back and forth evinced that Democrats are pretty f***ing feckless. And do not be fooled by progressive pundits, commentators, and Democratic leadership trying to sugar coat this mess as part of the “sausage-making” process. That is bullsh*t! Pure f***ing bullsh*t! None of this alleged sausage-making need happen so publicly. Yet, in the end, Progressives relented by doing something they could have done two months ago without the remnants of sausage on their face. Nonetheless, Progressives will claim in the intervening time that negotiations have yielded much progress — sure, on the House side. None of which is going to survive the Senate’s mark-ups, which brings me to my next point.

The human infrastructure bill — the Build Back Better Act — will go to the Senate to die a slow death because surely whatever version the Senate conceives — if it manages to write one — will return to the House a shell of itself whereby Progressives are going to tank it anyway. In short, months of wasted time and loss of political face have brought the Democratic Party to a place that could have been reached before Biden’s job approval tanked. Timing is everything in politics. It is always a matter of establishing and maintaining positive momentum so that when a disaster occurs (Afghanistan) its impact can be blunted by, at least, demonstration of legislative competence. However, when negative momentum takes hold Democrats will be hard-pressed to turn things around. In politics, “better late than never” is not the best maxim you want to say you can achieve.

Then my last point is this: Biden does not look any better by this legislative accomplishment. The reason this bill passed now is that Biden finally put his foot down to whip his party into shape to pass the m*****f***ing bill. Some might say that Biden can’t win with me. He’s damned if he does and damned if he doesn’t. And that this point, yes he is. Again, this is strength and decisiveness he could have — should have — exerted months ago! But, no! Instead, he allowed his party to devolve into public view a negotiating and legislative dumpster fire. And when he did try to “demand” action it was more like asking politely repeatedly while the party gave him the middle finger by contradicting his speeches and setting up failed deadlines. Seriously?!?! That’s how he let the party treat him? But he did for months. What remains is a question of Biden’s judgment. He misjudged the optics of the entire process, especially in front of voters. Once again, this victory now and in the way it was achieved says less about Biden’s strength and more about his weakness — still. His poll numbers will go nowhere as a result. Mark my words, morons! Welcome to stupid America! Congratulations anyway!

WTF! Have I Not Been Saying This for Months?

From Salon, “A nonpartisan nonprofit is calling on Attorney General Merrick Garland to resign over his apparent failure to ‘hold accountable former president Donald Trump and his co-conspirators for attempting to overthrow the government,’ suggesting that the Biden appointee is ‘the wrong person for this job at this time.’ … ‘For all these reasons, Garland is no longer fit to serve as Attorney General,’ the group wrote. ‘But as long as Trump and his co-conspirators walk free, American democracy is in danger. We need an Attorney General who understands that danger and is willing to take action to protect democracy and the rule of law.’” What the f*** have I been saying for months? Indeed, as early as May I started writing how I soured on Garland, and I’ve only become more disenchanted — disgusted actually. Now, months later a legal group is finally getting with it! Moreover, they seem to parrot some of the same arguments I made just the other day, namely traitor trump is still walking free and Garland is the wrong person for the time. I keep telling you people that America is f***ed because Biden is weak. He hired a weak AG. So, we’re f***ed. Garland is incompetent while the Biden administration and Democratic leadership are just standing by watching him do nothing! This is why nothing ever changes! Welcome to stupid America!

Get Ready for Guns Everywhere!

You get a gun! And you get a gun! And you get a gun! Everyone gets a gun for any reason at any time to carry anywhere. But wait there is more! You get an assault-style weapon. And you get an assault-style weapon! And you get an assault-style weapon! Guns for everyone! Guns everywhere. Conceal and carry or out in the open, slung across one’s chest! On the streets! In parks! In a Walmart! At the gas station! In a bar! No place is exempt! You, too, can be caught in the crossfire! You, too, can be in the wrong place at the wrong time, which is now everywhere one goes at any time! But don’t worry! Nothing matters. This is what Americans want and SCOTUS is ready to deliver the hellscape that is the wild, wild west of every gun-toting moron snowflake becoming judge, jury, and executioner because black and brown people are scary!

If oral arguments before SCOTUS is any indication about where the Second Amendment is headed, then we’re f***ed. From CNN, “The Supreme Court seemed ready to expand Second Amendment rights after hearing arguments for over two hours and expressing skepticism about a New York law that restricts individuals from carrying concealed handguns outside the home for self-defense. … It’s been more than a decade since the justices have decided a significant Second Amendment case and now the conservative-leaning court has the opportunity to reexamine the scope of the right to keep and bear arms in a case brought by an affiliate of the National Rifle Association. The court could potentially allow more guns to be carried on some of the busiest streets in the largest cities in the nation, at a time when the Biden administration has vowed to push for enhanced gun regulations.” Do not expect SCOTUS to strike down the New York law and re-interpret Heller restrictively. Oh, no. I don’t care what some conservative justices may have indicated during their questioning. They will endorse gun ownership as wide open as possible — it is number two on the Bill of Rights after all — citing the very fact that “twenty-one states generally allow people to carry concealed weapons in most public spaces without any permit, background check or safety training.” They’ll point to this factoid and demand to see the out-of-control gun violence in those states. They’ll answer their own question with a resounding “there is none,” and then proceed to open the flood gates for uncontrolled gun ownership and carry in New York, which will be a de facto license for every gun-owning idiot to sue every jurisdiction for the right to carry without restriction. This is the second bite at the apple (aka District of Columbia v. Heller) for which they’ve been waiting.

With rising white supremacy in America and SCOTUS allowing more guns to be carried in society — what could possibly go wrong? F*** public safety! SCOTUS does not care. We get the government we deserve. Worry not! No one cares. This is the America that Americans want, and by God, they’re going to get it in spades! Welcome to stupid America. Biden’s Presidency and America’s Democracy Ended Last Night!

Biden’s presidency and America’s Democracy ended on Tuesday 2 November 2021 — only 9 months into office. Election results from last night were catastrophic — no, cataclysmic — for dumbass Democrats, even worse than I imagined — and I usually imagine the worst. So, just about everywhere the country has swung back hard conservative, and what will follow is a rollback of civil rights for minorities and the permanent entrenchment of RepubliKKKlans. Mark my words, morons. Swing voters may have elected Youngkin on matters of the economy, but what they’ll get are racist, anti-gay, and misogynistic policies because welcome to stupid America! Youngkin does not believe in marriage equality and he’s anti-choice, so he’ll manage the executive branch that way, not to mention Democrats are about to lose control of the Virginia House of Delegates. Given that the Virginia Senate is tied and the newly elected lieutenant governor will be casting tie-breaking votes in favor of RepubliKKKlams, they’ll start legislating their hate immediately and undo everything Democrats accomplished. Make no mistake, morons. These RepubliKKKlan wins are all about the culture wars. And don’t be confused by Black people voting RepubliKKKlan. They hate the gays. While White RepubliKKKlan voters hate the Blacks. Latino RepuibliKKKlans hate both. In 2020, it was “defund the police” and BLM. Those terms were turned into racist ideas by RepubliKKKlans and MAGA morons who said “all lives matter” and “blue lives matter.” This year it is critical race theory, which is not even coded, but plainly means that White snowflakes hate minorities and don’t want schools to enlighten their children that America is still very racist (and all the other -ists.) Full stop! End of story! One can tell we hit a nerve with America’s racist by the voter turnout and the election results.

But don’t worry. RepubliKKKlans in Virginia won’t stop there. Get ready for “voter integrity” legislation in Virginia that will enshrine the RepubliKKKlan majority ala Georgia, Texas, and Arizona. This is what people wanted by their vote, unwittingly or not. And this is what dumbass Democrats allowed to happen because they are the feckless party of morons, only slightly less benighted than their RepubliKKKlan counterparts at this point. Those 13 electoral college votes from Virginia in the next presidential election? Democrats can kiss them goodbye. As usual, dumbass Democrats just don’t f***ing get it! They just don’t. Democratic voters and politicians, alike, just never seem to grasp the danger of crazy RepubliKKKlans winning elections. How many times do I have to say it? How many f***ing times? Democrats need to be running on fear all the f***ing time because that’s what we need to counter RepubliKKKlans. F*** the hope-y, change-y sh*t! Democrats should fear the end of democracy! It seems every major win Democrats manage to achieve is by default — voters elect the lesser of two evils when put to the task. Otherwise, people simply default to RepubliKKKlans, and dumbass Democrats verily accept it with little to no resistance. They capitulate all too easily. And if I have to hear one more moron Democratic pundit talk about how Tuesday’s election results are a wake-up call, then I’m going to blow a m*****f***ing gasket. They always say that. Every f***ing time. After every shellacking, they call for the party to reflect, and then they turn around and learn nothing, do nothing, expect to lose more. Whatever! I give up! We deserve the government we get, and we’re on our way to authoritarianism because America is stupid and dumbass Democrats are worthless.

As for Biden’s agenda, it’s toast. The bipartisan infrastructure plan will pass, but the Build Back Better legislation is dead on arrival. There is no other way for Manchin to interrupt Democrats’ massive losses last night as anything other than a signal to put the breaks on everything. Don’t forget that Manchin is perfectly fine with not passing anything else related to Biden’s BBB agenda. So, dumbass Democrats will continue with their infighting and the legislation will collapse. Unfortunately, Biden is not strong enough nor does he have the political capital to force his party to enact his priorities. He should have done that months ago, but didn’t. And at this point, even if Democrats managed to pass his BBB agenda, I don’t think it will make any difference to the voters. Again, idiot Democratic pundits and politicians seem to think that all they have to do is pass legislation to regain voter confidence, but it’s too late. I fear the damage has already been done. It would have been effective if Democrats had pushed through Biden’s legislation out of the gate, but they didn’t. Clearly, Democratic control of the federal government helped the nation weather COVID — compared to the disastrous handling by traitor trump — but how did voters reward Biden’s success? Look to Virginia. But this is par for the course. Voters always punish Democrats for their successes. Witness the Affordable Care Act. This is no different. Democrat’s policies and COVID leadership got shots in arms, but what RepubliKKKlan message won out? Vaccines are a personal choice and masks are overkill. Never mind that these two things helped us survive the pandemic.

Moreover, the inflation issue is, in part, because of the economy’s success. It was easy for the world to turn off economic levers in an instant, but turning them back on is far more difficult. And when a society (America) comes roaring back from COVID to spend hoards of money they’ve been stockpiling for the last two years in an economy that has not fully reopened (think supply chain issues) then what happens? INFLATION! Too much money chasing too few products! That’s what happens! Has anyone noticed that the stock market is near all-time highs? These inflation pressures are a sign of a strong economy, ironically. No one was complaining about failing gas prices when people stopped driving during lockdowns. No one complained about how there was no inflation and some deflation (e.g., airfare and gas) during the worst of the pandemic, but now that things are improving quickly and resulting in higher prices as a reflection of shocks in the re-opening of global markets, everyone is in an uproar and b*tching! But whatever! I live in stupid hell! Stupid, stupid people everywhere who know knowing about economics or how the world works. It’s all Biden’s fault, naturally. There is a lot that Biden has f***ed up, but the economy is not one of them. Nonetheless, he just gets the blame, rightly or wrongly. About the only thing he could do is suggest to the Fed to stop quantitative easing, although Biden has no direct control — none — over the Fed. The problem is Democrats allow such perceptions to persist unchallenged and unabated. But I guess you can’t undo stupid and you can’t teach stupid, so Democrats are stuck because this is m*****f***ing G.D. stupid America!

Don’t get me started on what last night portends for the 2022 and 2024 elections, but I will finish on this thought. Many like to analyze election vicissitudes as a pendulum that swings back and forth between left and right, Democrats and RepubliKKKlans. I agree with that metaphor, but the real question is where the needle lands more often than not. Is it far-left or far-right? Center-left or center-right? What I can say is that the needle never occupies the blue space as long and as deep as it does the red space. While Democrats can wrangle the point of the pendulum to their side for a short time, it always swings back toward RepubliKKKlans sooner rather than later, and the needle always lands in deeper red territory each time. That, my friends, is the true nature of America. And that is why our democracy is dying. RepubliKKKlans — and the voters who give them power — really don’t believe in democracy anymore. Oh, well! Welcome to stupid America! The end is near. One lost state at a time.

And So It Begins: Attacks on LGBTQ Rights Under the New SCOTUS

According to Bloomberg Law, “For-profit businesses can be shielded from LGBT discrimination liability based on sincerely held religious beliefs, a federal judge in Texas ruled Sunday, addressing several legal questions left open after the U.S. Supreme Court granted anti-bias protections for sexual orientation and gender identity. … The ruling comes in a lawsuit that Braidwood and Bear Creek filed against the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, seeking carve outs to Title VII following the Supreme Court’s landmark 2020 decision in Bostock v. Clayton County, GA, which expanded civil rights protections for LGBT workers. The justices left unaddressed the scope of religious defenses to workplace discrimination liability. For years, legal clashes between religious rights and anti-bias laws have raged in employment and public accommodations cases, as well as on Washington’s Capitol Hill where a comprehensive LGBT rights bill known as the Equality Act awaits Senate consideration.”

Right on cue! The assault on LGBTQ rights intensifies given SCOTUS’ new ultra-conservative majority. Do not be fooled by the 6-3 ruling in Bostock. Don’t forget that RBG was part of that six-member majority. Now that Barrett is on the court, at best, any new ruling to protect LGBTQ rights would be 5-4, but this particular case has that all-important religious FREEDOM! component, which the anti-LGBTQ justices will use as a defense to allow others to hate and discriminate. So, the Bostock standard will be upended by anyone and everyone claiming some religious exception to hate on the gays. Since this case originated in Texas, it will be appealed to the ultra-conservative United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, where they will rule in favor of the defendants. Then the EEOC will appeal to SCOTUS in which case they may not take up the case and allow the lower court’s ruling to stand, or they will take up the case to officially sanction all-out discrimination against the LGBTQ community. Oh, and don’t worry. Congress will never pass legislation to codify LGBTQ members as a protected class. We’ll never be protected under federal law, so everything is at the whim of the states and federal courts. We’re going backward here, and being gay still means you can be treated as a second-class citizen. How purely American! In the end, America always reverts to the mean, which is racist, homophobic, misogynistic, blah, blah, blah. Nothing ever changes — really. Gay marriage is next! Mark my words, f***tards! I read this from CNN, “The chief judge in Washington, DC’s federal court laid into the Justice Department on Thursday for its ‘schizophrenic’ and ‘puzzling’ approach to January 6 cases, saying judges’ hands are tied from giving hefty punishments because prosecutors keep offering misdemeanor deals to rioters. Calling the insurrection the ‘crime of the century,’ Chief Judge Beryl Howell of DC District Court said prosecutors’ charging decisions and their suggested punishments for some nonviolent rioters are ‘baffling’ and ‘peculiar.’… ‘This is a muddled approach by the government,’ Howell said. ‘No wonder parts of this public are confused about whether what happened on January 6 at the Capitol was simply a petty offense of trespassing, with some disorderliness, or was shocking criminal conduct that posed a grave threat to our democratic norms.’… The Justice Department has offered misdemeanor plea deals to dozens of rioters who aren’t accused of violence — an approach that prosecutors have said was approved by senior department officials.”

Then I immediately think of a song by The Doors. Probably because this truly is The End. The end of America wrapped up in a bow courtesy of a weak Biden, dumbass Democrats’ inability to fight back ruthlessly, and AG Garland. One may tell I’m having a dreadful week with Democrats. Their incompetence just keeps getting worse, and it’s killing America. Allow me this opportunity to rail against the moron Merrick Garland, specifically, who is single-handedly making sure no domestic terrorist gets the punishment they deserve. He is entirely out of his depth and inadequate to meet the moment of our time! This is actually quite rich, given that Garland became famous for leading the investigation into the 1995 attack on the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building, which led to the prosecution of the OG domestic terrorist Timothy McVeigh. Judge Howell is absolutely correct in her above analysis. No wonder people are starting to think the January 6 insurrection against the government is no big deal because the DOJ is treating it that way. Make no mistake. Garland is signing off on all these terrorist plea deals! It’s a f***ing joke. And all the sh*t is starting to roll downhill.

I am starting to think of all the issues Biden is mishandling; this one — an incompetent DOJ — is negatively impacting his job approval the most. The more time that passes and the more nothing gets done with Garland. Then the more disgusted I get with Biden and the entire lot of them. Did anyone see Garland testify in front of the Senate Judicary Committee last week? Oh, my f***ing God! What a f***ing disaster. Garland looked like a f***ing deer in headlights as the likes of Cruz and Hawley laid into him with baseless accusations about school boards and whatever other crap they manage to conjure. Garland, just kind of, sat there looking confused about their attacks. He was somewhat unresponsive, which seems to completely mirror the actions of his DOJ when it comes to pursuing traitors against America. So, our democracy is completely f***ed because no one will do anything to save it or, at the very least, just push back against MAGA. Garland is pathetic and feckless, and Biden is absolutely no better. With each day, I am more convinced America is failed as a nation. Dumbass Democrats are hopeless to save the country. Whatever! I give up! You want to know why Biden sucks in the polls? Because traitor trump is still free and running a shadow counter-presidency in real-time; insurrectionists are getting slaps on the wrists. Biden’s job approval rating sucks because he sucks, and he’s just allowing trumpism to flourish across the land as if there is nothing to worry about. As if just passing his Build Back Better plan will save the day. Another news flash! It won’t. We want traitor trump and all his MAGA morons in jail! But worry not. That will never happen. America would sooner crumble before Democrats ever grew the balls to prosecute traitor trump and hold anyone in his administration accountable. Welcome to stupid America! According to Newsweek, “Congressman Jim Clyburn, the third-highest ranking Democrat in the House of Representatives, expressed skepticism that his political party can maintain control of the legislative body in the 2022 midterm elections. … ‘I think we can. I’m not sure we will,’ he continued. ‘My dad used to say to me all the time, “Wherever there is a will, there is a way.” I’m not too sure that Democrats have yet developed the will to win in 2022.’” Double bingo! One sage person actually understands dumbass Democrats. They do not have the will. And I don’t think they can muster enough will to win against RepubliKKKlans’ will to destroy America. It is that simple, f***tards! Welcome to stupid America! We lost America’s democracy the day traitor trump won and ensured its demise the day Biden took office! We expected something different with Biden, but his weakness is killing us! This is merely the intermission, folks! Mark my words! Welcome to stupid America!

WTF, Biden! Seriously, WTF!

From Politico, “President Joe Biden on Thursday declared a ‘historic’ breakthrough with congressional Democrats toward passing his signature Build Back Better agenda, launching a sales job for legislation that is yet to be written and remains in limbo on Capitol Hill. … Although Biden positioned the framework he presented to Congress earlier in the day as essentially a done deal, numerous hurdles and significant internal discord remain for Democratic lawmakers who have spent weeks in painstaking negotiations on the massive social spending package.”

Then this happened: “House Democratic leaders on Thursday were once again forced to push back the timeline for a vote on a $1 trillion infrastructure bill, a sign of ongoing divisions within the party and a major blow to President Joe Biden and party leaders eager to show they can deliver on their agenda. The decision to delay the vote came just hours after Biden appealed directly to House Democrats in a closed-door meeting on Capitol Hill, pitching them on a framework for a separate, larger climate and economic package.”

I have to say it because it’s true: Biden, at this point, is a worse president than traitor trump. But I guess I’ve been foreshadowing the moment since inauguration day. Biden is f***ing weak and pathetic. He is coming off as more of a dotard than traitor trump. This is nothing new; I’ve been saying it for months. I’m sorry to offend everyone’s sensibilities and, Lord knows, I am sorely disappointed to have to admit it — and there is plenty of time for him to turn around the presidency. However, at the same point in traitor trump’s presidency, he was just an incompetent embarrassment who spent more time golfing and joy-riding in Air Force One. Ten months into the presidency, he was still figuring out how to wield power and only abused the “summon the Diet Coke” button. Not many expected much from him. As for Biden, with all of his experience, he was supposed to be different, yet what we get is more of the same. Biden repeatedly gets ahead of himself only to embarrass the presidency and the party at every turn. (At least he’s not calling Nazis very fine people.) And I’ve repeatedly said this as well: Biden cannot expect to fix America’s problems by returning to “normal.” No, he needs to overcorrect, but he’s just too timid for the task. So, we’re stuck slowly backsliding.

Nonetheless, Biden clearly does not have control over the Democratic Party, and this weakness and lack of leadership are precisely the optics killing his job approval rating. News flash: You don’t stand in front of the nation to declare “we’ve done it,” then only to have your party come out to say and do the contrary. What the f*** was he thinking? What the f*** are people around him thinking? Does he not understand that you underpromise and over-deliver? Instead — and repeatedly — he declares victory while the battle is still raging and he’s apparently on the losing end. Un-f***ing-believable. I will tell you this: We are done with Biden letting Democrats run around like a bunch of rogue teenagers. He’s the m*****f***ing president and leader of the Democratic Party. He should have put his foot down — like the angry father — months ago and demanded a paired down Build Back Better plan gets done — behind closed doors and not in the public sphere where it looks like the party has no clue how to legislate. While Democrats do hold all the cards, they seem to forget they lost considerable ground in the House, so Biden’s Build Back Better agenda may not have been as well-received as we would like to think. Never mind that individual components poll extremely favorably. That was the case with the ACA, yet morons of America crucified Democrats for passing it in the midterms. Once again, progressives and moderates are both overplaying their hands and Biden is letting them. Biden’s asking and cajoling are getting old and we’re over it. Whip your party into shape for God f***ing sake! What a disaster. Whatever! I should not be surprised. Dumbass Democrats are weak and incapable of exercising power. As a result, our democracy will die as Biden helps to shuffle the process along — just like his gait. And don’t get me started on what Biden’s DOJ is failing to do to hold traitors of America accountable. We’re sick of that inaction, too. It’s all connected, people! I’ll save that for another day! The January 6 Committee and AG Garland Are a F***ing Joke

Reporting from CNN, “Members of the House select committee investigating January 6 are losing patience with the pace of talks with former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows, and some are considering whether more aggressive steps are needed to force his compliance in the sweeping probe, multiple sources tell CNN. Meadows was first subpoenaed more than a month ago, and since then the committee has indicated he’s been ‘engaging’ in negotiations over the terms of his turning over documents and appearing for a deposition. But weeks after the committee granted Meadows a ‘short’ but indefinite postponement of the initial subpoena deadline, members are growing increasingly frustrated and contemplating when and how to ramp up the pressure.” As if no one saw this coming? Oh, yeah. Only dumbass Democrats didn’t see this coming. Of course, Meadows was never going to cooperate.
