According to Slate, “the Austin American-Statesman and local TV station KVUE released an 82-minute video of previously unseen footage from May’s school shooting in Uvalde, Texas. The video, which is primarily composed of footage taken from a security camera inside a Robb Elementary School hallway, begins as gunman Salvador Ramos approaches and enters the school from the outside. Gun in hand, wearing body armor, Ramos moves through the hallways and begins firing. … Though the video does not include any gory footage, and though we do not see inside the classrooms in which Ramos shot and killed 21 people, it is nevertheless hard to watch. (You can hear a lot of gunshots in the video; an ‘editor’s note’ appears periodically informing viewers that ‘The sound of children screaming has been removed’).”
I say show it all and let everyone hear it all. This is the problem, f***tards! American morons live in a sanitized fantasy world of self-delusion. America is a land of wimps and cowards too afraid to face the truth, in no small part, thanks to the MSM. There was much ado about the Statesman leaking the video in the first place, let alone without the screams of children. This country can never survive if people are unwilling to look the disaster that is American in the face. Gun violence is one aspect of that disaster that I don’t think people genuinely apprehend. Oh, sure, we all see the real-time coverage of the mass shooting event de jour in “horror,” but honestly, it is not the horror we should be seeing and that we need to see. Perhaps if the MSM showed the actual carnage of gun violence, then more people would be engaged and motivated to demand change (and vote). But, no! Instead, we get wall-to-wall coverage of memorials and tributes as if the carnage was an imaged, nebulous fiction with distant memories of flashing lights on emergency vehicles, an empty parade route, or a closed school slated to be razed. Sadly — and entirely expected — we have deluded ourselves into complacency and stupidity. Fear not, morons of America. We’ll ignore our way to the end of democracy so that we don’t have to face reality because democracy is “hard.” Oh, well. Welcome to stupid America!
