A great line from Vanity Fair, “Trump’s banking on the old Gore Vidal adage, ‘We are the United States of Amnesia, we learn nothing because we remember nothing.’” One would think I am well-read enough to have read this quote before, but alas I am ignorant. That’s why Vidal was a great American intellectual, and I’m just an angry blogger. Nonetheless, it’s refreshing to be vindicated in my beliefs, though my beliefs are not that novel or mysterious. Anyone with two brain cells to rub together can apprehend that America is just f***ing stupid, clueless, and forgetful. Every day is a wonder we’ve endured this long as a nation without more civil wars.
