Dean Obeidallah was on a tear yesterday during his SiriusXM radio show. I love Dean because he’s the only one who understands the zeitgeist and crafts the right messaging for the moment. It’s hard to listen to anyone else credulously since Dean says it like it is; he doesn’t mince words, and he’s unafraid to give a brutal — trenchant — assessment of the state of the nation. Yesterday, the topic was Tennessee’s push to redistrict the only Black-majority district out of existence. He was hitting all the right notes, calling the move part of a broader effort to help the South rise again. Bingo! For a return to Jim Crow 2.0. Bingo! For the Southern states to push out all Democratic representation. Bingo! And it was not lost on him that all the former states of the Confederacy — the slave states — were the only ones to act with such alacrity to eliminate all Black representation. Coincidence, he asks? Of course, not. He cuts to the chase and calls it exactly as it is, while other pussalanomous Liberal and Progressive commentators and politicians hem and haw about what RepubliKKKlans’ intentions are around redistricting. There is only one correct interpretation. There are no shades of grey or other complicated analyses required. It’s the rise of the South. A reformulation of the Confederacy. Made constitutionally legal by a corrupt SCOTUS. Plain and simple.
And then he said something that really piqued my interest. He wished the military had never left the South, referring to the National Guard that was ordered into Southern states to ensure Black people’s rights were protected, e.g., when, in September 1957, President Dwight D. Eisenhower federalized the Arkansas National Guard and deployed the 101st Airborne Division to Little Rock, Arkansas, to enforce school desegregation. Agreed and amen, brother! Indeed, I’d go one step further: The North should still be occupying — to this f***ing day — the South as part of Reconstruction, for clearly the Southern states have been on a 161-year mission to reconstitute the Confederacy! And guess what? They’re doing it! And no one f***ing cares! And no one seems to notice. Certainly not the MSM!
And to be honest — as I have said before — President Lincoln has dropped down on my list of most admired presidents because he had long advocated for reconciliation with our Southern “brothers.” Granted, he sadly did not live to see the end of the Civil War, so who knows how reconciliation might have worked out, but he certainly was in favor of ending the rift between the North and the South. Fast forward to today, and it’s pretty clear that the bottom half of the country has never wanted to mend the differences between the Union and the Confederacy. Nah, all those slave states want to return to a time when white, straight, Protestant, sis men ruled the South to the exclusion of everyone else. After all these years, not a f***ing thing has changed. Not a single f***ing thing! So, as I have said over and over and over again, war is coming! It’s time to take up arms and reoccupy the South, but this time for good! Welcome to stupid America! As divided as we’ve ever been, so let’s just get on with it already!
