According to NBC News, “A federal appeals court on Friday granted the state of Louisiana’s request to reinstate a nationwide requirement that abortion pills be dispensed in person. The ruling represents a victory for opponents of abortion rights, since it limits access by blocking people’s ability to obtain mifepristone — one of the two pills used in medication abortions — through telehealth and by mail.”
Good, good! I say this not because I’m anti-abortion; I am pro-choice. I say this because people really do need to start feeling the pain and consequences of their vote — or lack thereof. This has been part of the problem with everything the country has been experiencing under the rise of Dictator Don; America has been a victim of its own success — from vaccinations to women’s rights to our national prosperity, to name a few. Women have had it too good for too long. Again, I am not a misogynist, but my rhetoric needs to be hyperbolic to get my point across if such a point can even resonate with women in the era of MAGA morons. Look, for the entire 2024 presidential election cycle, all I heard was “wait for Roevember.” After SCOTUS took away women’s rights to bodily autonomy, followed by a rush of conservative states banning abortions, women would not stand for it. They would rebuke RepubliKKKlans and Dictator Don at the polls in protest, frustrated that a fundamental right to one’s medical privacy would motivate women to vote for Democrats, who have always championed women’s rights. And what did we get in “Roevember”? A clean sweep of RepubliKKKlan victories from the White House, to the House, to the Senate. Wow! Who could have seen this coming? Um, me! I knew the clarion call of Roevember was B.S. Just more dumbass Democrats’ hopeium, as if women would actually rise up to defend their God-given right to control their own bodies — a right they have enjoyed for 50+ years. I knew they would fall short. I knew it because, as I have said repeatedly — abortions are always someone else’s problem. But whatever. No one ever listens to me.
So, now the chickens have come home to roost as RepubliKKKlans continue to chip away at women’s rights. This court injunction is simply one more way to make it more difficult for women to abort a pregnancy. And no one f***ing cares, least of all women! I’m still waiting for those million-women matches in the streets, ala the 1960s. But I doubt that will ever happen, at least not until women die in the back alleys. Nothing matters until there is mass death. Actually, I take that back; we witness mass death from gun violence routinely, and that has changed nothing, so maybe nothing changes at all — ever. So, I guess nothing will change. This is the new normal; this is the era of rolling back everyone’s rights, except White Christian straight sis men. Just like the “good old days.” This is where we’re at now. It’s happening right in front of our eyes, and the response has been a collective ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. I expected nothing less from this sh*t-for-brains country. Welcome to stupid America. Just when you thought it couldn’t get any dumber, it does.
