So, I cheated on this post and used AI, but it’s fair to say that The Don! has explicitly claimed that a peace agreement or breakthrough with Iran was close, within reach, or “largely negotiated” at least six distinct times since the joint U.S.-Israeli military operation against Iran began on February 28, 2026. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5] His statements have repeatedly shifted between imminent peace declarations and threats of renewed military action. [3]

Late March 2026 (The 15-Point Plan): Trump stated that the U.S. and Iran were “in negotiations right now” and claimed Tehran was eager to make a peace deal after intermediaries delivered a 15-point ceasefire proposal. Iran publicly dismissed the terms as “excessive.”
April 1, 2026 (The “Blasting” Ultimatum): Trump claimed Iran had actively asked the U.S. for a ceasefire. He stated the U.S. would consider it only once the Strait of Hormuz was opened. Iranian officials called the claim “false and baseless.”
April 14, 2026 (The Two-Day Resumption): Trump told reporters that U-S.-Iran peace talks were on the verge of resuming “in the next two days.”
April 17, 2026 (The Hormuz Signal): Trump signaled that a deal was “very close,” coinciding with a temporary local announcement that Iran would lift its blockade on shipping.

Now, back to my commentary. What’s more infuriating is that the MSM fails every single f***ing time to report on this “news” critically. The Idiot-in-Chief gets ahead of his skis by tweeting or announcing something that turns out to be a lie, and the MSM immediately goes into “breaking news” mode: “Trump says a deal with Iran is near.” Rather than being skeptical of yet another baseless claim, the MSM just repeats whatever The Don! says, spending air time speculating about the details of the agreement instead of first calling B.S.! They never mention that Dictator Don has misled the public no less than six times about “ending” the war. Invariably, Dictator Don has to walk back his previous statements. It’s an endless cycle of crying wolf, yet the MSM and public never learn. It’s only after Iran provides a more accurate assessment of negotiations by declaring, “Um, not so fast,” that everyone’s expectations return to Earth. What a joke! Welcome to stupid America!
